Steady Through Menopause

Before
Awake at 3am, and too tired to cook.
After
Sleeping through most nights, and cooking properly again.
I was waking at 3am most nights and lying there until the alarm. At work I’d lose words mid-sentence, and by the evening I was too tired to cook anything more than toast.
Small changes, in the right order
Ana looked at when I was eating as much as what. My biggest meal was late, I was drinking coffee into the afternoon and I wasn’t eating much protein. We moved things around before we changed very much.
My sleep came back first, slowly. Then my patience, and then the energy to cook properly again. We worked alongside what my GP had already suggested, which mattered to me.
I still have the odd hot flush, but I feel like myself most days, and I’m cooking for friends on Saturdays again.
